How Single Tooth Dental Implants Work?
9 March 2023
The process of getting a single tooth dental implant involves several stages, and we want to assure you that we’ll guide you through it step-by-step. Firstly, our experienced implant dentist will conduct a thorough assessment of your oral health to determine if you are a suitable candidate for the procedure. Your well-being is our priority, and we want to ensure that this treatment is the right fit for you.
Once deemed eligible, the dental implant will be carefully and surgically placed into your jawbone, acting as a strong foundation for the replacement tooth. This stage is essential in providing a stable and long-lasting solution for your missing tooth.
During the healing period, which can vary from a few weeks to a few months, the implant will osseointegrate with the jawbone, creating a secure bond. This natural integration is crucial in ensuring the success of the implant.
Once the implant has fully integrated, we will attach an abutment to it. This component serves as a connector between the implant and the replacement tooth, ensuring a seamless fit and optimal functionality.
To complete the single tooth dental implant process, we will carefully craft a customised dental crown that matches the shape, size, and colour of your existing teeth. The use of high-quality ceramic or porcelain materials ensures a natural and aesthetically pleasing appearance, enhancing your smile and overall confidence.
Benefits of Single Tooth Dental Implants
We believe single tooth dental implants offer numerous advantages compared to traditional tooth replacement options such as bridges or dentures. Here are some key benefits for you to consider:
The customised dental crown blends seamlessly with your natural teeth, resulting in an enhanced smile and overall appearance.
Single tooth dental implants provide full chewing ability, allowing you to enjoy your favorite foods without any limitations.
Preserved Bone Health
By replacing the missing tooth root, dental implants help maintain the integrity of the jawbone, preventing bone loss and preserving your facial structure.
Durability and Longevity
With proper care, single tooth dental implants can last a lifetime, offering a long-term solution to tooth loss and providing you with peace of mind.
Unlike ill-fitting dentures, dental implants do not affect speech, allowing you to speak clearly and confidently in any situation.
Single tooth dental implants are a permanent solution and do not require any special maintenance routines. Simply continue your regular oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and regular dental check-ups.

What Our Patients Say
Dr Nell is a fantastic dentist. Jolly, reassuring, and extremely knowledgeable. I am sad to be leaving and moving out of the area, as he and his team are outstanding.
Fantastic! Extremely welcoming and very friendly, great advice, very professional, sensible pricing. I’m a new customer and like many perhaps anxious moving to a new practice, but I felt completely at ease and comfortable throughout, it’s refreshing to have ‘old school’ service and logical advice. I can highly recommend these ladies and gents! 😁
