Martin graduated from the University of Pretoria (South Africa) in 2000, with Honours. In 2001 he moved to England and worked as an Associate at the Parade Dental Practice (Ewell) providing both NHS and Private Dental treatment. He completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Oral Surgery as well as Diploma at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He returned to South Africa in 2008 to help his father, also a dentist, in his practice.
He has been working at a sedation clinic in the East of London since 2011 on rotation, providing general dentistry and surgical procedures on the NHS to nervous patients. Due to the amount of travel between South Africa and England, he decided to settle more permanently in England at Coniston Dental Practice.
Martin provides a wide range of dental treatment (from aesthetic treatment to minor surgical procedures) with an emphasis on prevention and maintenance. Communication is central to any treatment plan, and through discussion and planning the best solution for the patient needs are sought. He loves interacting with children and children’s dentistry. He routinely screens his patients for mouth/ oral cancers with the latest technology and standards available. He keeps updated on the latest developments in materials, methods and evidence based dentistry, to provide the best treatment for his patients. He is also an Emergency First Response (EFR) instructor and believes to empower the general public to be actively involved in caring for their family and friends in times of an emergency.
Martin is married to Suzette, a Paediatric Physiotherapist with two children, Luca born in 2007 and Abigail born in 2009.
Martin is a keen underwater photographer and is competent at DIY and can fix almost anything.
